Caldera Group of Companies was founded in 1998 by the late Eftychios Krommydakis. In its early years it was exclusively active in the construction sector.
In 2002 the Group also entered the hotel industry. In the years that followed, it specialized in land search and assessment for real estate development, and in the construction and development of hotel units and real estate assets for third parties.
The Group later became exclusively active in the hospitality sector. It is now the owner of six (6) hotel units in Crete, with an overall accommodation capacity of more than 4.600 beds, as well as of an impressive portfolio of luxury villas in the Chania and Heraklion prefectures. At the same time, it has expanded its construction and real estate operations, and has acquired a collection of selected land plots for future development.
The year 2010 represents a turning point in the history of Caldera Group, as its founder passed away at the age of 51, after a serious illness. It was then the family’s turn to take over the Group’s activities, while staying true to its founder’s values and principles.
Although the timing was not ideal, 2010 marking the beginning of the deep financial crisis in Greece, the Group managed not only to preserve, but also to expand its operations and profitability, becoming one of the few business success stories of the last decade in Crete.
Since 2010, the Group has been managed by the founder’s wife, Stamatia Boraki-Krommydaki, President of the Group, and by their two sons, the economist Ioannis Krommydakis, and the architectural engineer Stylianos Krommydakis, who are the Group’s CEOs. They are all flanked by an exceptional technocratic management team, which thoroughly and successfully implements the decisions of the Group’s Board of Directors.
Never forgetting its history, Caldera Group is moving on into the future with great self- confidence and faith in its people and business practices, always maintaining its founder’s core values at the heart of its activities and development.
